Catching Up

Life got busy and this blog was put on the back burner.  BUT... we have had some major highs and lows in the last 8 months and have some BIG changes coming up so I thought it was time to start documenting our day to day again.  Here is a quick recap of our lives over the past many months through my phone pictures.

I was officially sworn in to practice law in MN.  Yay!

Great friends and colleagues

We got to see Judd and Bente!  They live in Milwaukee and we only get to see them a few times a year.  We met at Bente's family cabin in WI.  We played board games, drank wine, went on walks, went shopping, and ate a lot.  Great time with amazing friends.

Tyler made us wear orange hats because it was hunting season

We also made a trip to northern MN with some of Tyler's dental school friends.  Tyler spent all of December at a clinic up in Hibbing so it was nice to be able to go meet him for a weekend.

Excited to try out my new snowshoes (although not enough snow yet)

We celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter with tons of family and overindulgence.  I had Christmas baking days with my Mom, Stacy and my bro's gf Jennifer, and also with my law school friends.  Tyler and I also got our very first real Christmas tree!

Stockings hung at my mother and father's house, our tree, and a small sample of all the treats I consumed

All my Solheid cousins and significant others with Grandma on Christmas day

I love my big family :)  We have so many other pictures from the Holidays but it will take us forever to go back through them so this is all I have for now.

Right after Christmas, Tyler and I drove out to CO to visit our good friends, Alicia and Chad, and to get in some skiing at Vail and Copper Mountain.  We had a great time!  We met up with our friends, Megan and Ryan to celebrate New Year's Eve.  On New Year's day, Tyler and I went snowshoeing in the mountains and then met up with Alicia and Chad to explore Breckenridge Village.  Then, two days of skiing before heading back to MN.

In January, I went back to Detroit for a few days for work before heading off to Texas for two weeks of more training.

Our Texas night out

We celebrated a lot of birthdays and had a lot of family time.

Stacy's 30th!

I visited Danielle at St. Ben's for a night

Tyler and Brooklyn.  She picked him out as her favorite.

Sophie's senior year dance recital.  So proud of her!

We put up with the longest winter EVER.

So annoying but so beautiful

We spent lots of fun nights out with friends.

Twins games!  My friend, Britt, threw out the first pitch for the MS Society

First wedding of the season

We had college graduations!  My sister, Danielle, graduated from St. Ben's with honors and will be starting PT school at the U of M in July.  Tyler's brother graduated from the U of M and will be going to graduate school at St. Thomas.  Danielle joked that it was the weekend of Danielle (and mom's day ;)  She had her final track meet on Saturday and her graduation on Sunday.

D's big weekend.  No pics of Chris's graduation on my phone :(

Tyler went turkey hunting and got his first turkey on his first morning out.

Tyler graduated Dental School!!!!!! Yay!!  He had a ceremony where he received an award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for his work on implants.  Tyler is so talented and great with his patients.  I have no doubt that he will have a successful career as a dentist.

So incredibly proud of my husband

Proud parents and Tyler with his awesome sign from Suzanne

We celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary!  Tyler took me to Butcher and the Boar for dinner and it was amazing!  Two years flew by but apparently not that fast since Tyler thought it was our 3rd year anniversary!

And lastly, we took a trip out to NC because we are MOVING there!  We have a lot to do in the next two weeks before we leave!  I officially gave my notice at work and Lieutenant Yahnke begins his job as a Marine dentist in July.  We are sad to be leaving friends and family but can't wait for this new adventure.

The house that will be ours at the end of the month (fingers crossed)

5 minutes from our house

We have so many fun things planned with our friends and family before we begin the next chapter of our lives.  Can't wait!
