Meredith Rose - One Year Old

One year with our little Meredith Rose came so fast! We celebrated at home with my very first made from scratch cake (and frosting) and a new front bike carrier for Meredith.  Shortly after Meredith's birthday, we left to celebrate with my parents and sister's family in Asheville.

You are such a good eater.  You love your smoothies (above) and you eat pretty much anything we give you.  The only thing that you don't like is avocados.

You take some steps (like 4 at a time) but still prefer to crawl when you want to get somewhere fast.  You have your balance down.

You are loving all your new birthday toys that our families sent us.  Especially this new car from Grandma and Grandpa Busch.

You listen and understand instructions so well.  If we ask you to bring something to us or hand something to us, you do it.

You had your very first bad head cold. Of course right before our trip to Pinehurst.  (Since I'm blogging so late, I can add that getting sick right before vacations has kind of become your thing.)

You are just over 19 pounds, 2 ounces.

Meredith Rose - 11 Months

We can't believe our feisty, determined little girl is 11 months!  Meredith Rose, you are a sponge!  You mimic our actions and words so well.  You talk and scream non-stop but get quiet and nervous around strangers.  You love making animal noises and opening and closing doors.  You can stand up on your own but prefer to walk holding mom's hand or speed crawl with one food and one knee.  You climb on everything - even out of the shopping cart!  You are keeping us on our toes and you make us laugh constantly!

You got your first tooth!  Your bottom right (tooth P according to dad) popped through a few days after 10 months and your bottom left followed three days later.

You love walking holding on to mommy's legs.

You say "ahaha" for "baa" when you see a sheep.  Other words this month: "all done," "tada," "touch down," "down," and "off."  You also say "lalala" after us and can do the Indian call with your hand over your mouth.

You stand alone but get nervous after a little while and want to sit down.  You can stand up all on your own from sitting without pulling yourself up.

You got your first kitchen (early birthday present from Grandma Nae) and you pick up the phone, bring it to your ear and say "ha) for hi.

Your blonde hair is growing and getting a little curl to it!

You love cords and outlets but have started to shake your head no-no when you go by them now.  You also love grabbing hair now - even the hair of the man in front of us at church!

You wave hi and bye a lot now.

You are still nursing - now just 4 time a day (and if up at night).  You have breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner.

You are wearing mostly 9 month clothes.  Still some 6 month and even 3-6 month pants and a few 12 month.  You just moved to size 4 diapers but they are pretty big on you.

You are so strong.  You are really good at doing the wheel barrow and walking on your hands.

You love your animal sound puzzle and your baby Einstein.  Basically any noise toys right now.  You also love your v-tech walker and books.

Meredith Rose - 10 Months

So much has happened since I last blogged! I have been so busy and the whole blogging and editing pictures from our nice camera was turning into work instead of a fun hobby.  I also go back and forth between wanting to document everything and not wanting so much of our personal life on such a public forum.  A few days ago I started looking through my past posts and I realized that I would forget so many details of our adventures, trips, and day-to-day life if I don't record it, so I guess I am hoping to find a balance that works for us now.  We have had such a busy and fun 2016! So here I go trying to document our year in the matter of days so I can hopefully get back in somewhat of a routine for 2017.

10 months with our little peanut!  You are finally sleeping through the night!  Most likely because you are constantly moving while awake.  You walk (against furniture, toys and the wall) and crawl all over the place.  You can now climb stairs and you are starting to repeat more words after us.  You love to laugh, dance and read books.  We are having so much fun with you!

You have said "momma" and "dada" and "ah-da" and just started saying "nanana" for banana.  You have also repeated hi and bye when other people say them to you.  You talk and scream all day long!

You crawl with your left foot and your right knee dragging.  We think you won't be in any hurry to walk because you get around so fast.

You love giving high fives.

You bend over and pick up toys while standing and stand right back up.  You also started to stand wide legged and bounce to dance.

You love pushing your v-tech walker all by yourself.

You traveled to MN for your first Christmas and have now been on 8 airplane rides!

Meredith Rose - 9 Months

9 months going on toddlerhood!  You seem so big to us now!

Meredith Rose, you sure are a busy girl!  Your current hobbies include crawling or scooting after mom, pulling yourself up and standing while playing, and eating any fuzz you can get from the rugs.  You also love pinching and hair pulling.

You are around 17 1/2 pounds and are still wearing mostly 6 month clothing.

You scream and say "ahh-da" and "da-da" all day long!  You also say "momma" but not as often - usually when you are trying to get to me.

Your new tricks are lifting your arms up for "so big" and giving [sloppy] kisses.

You started getting up on your hands and knees and rocking and you are now officially crawling.  You are still working on the coordination of it and you usually do a combination of crawling and your army crawl/scoot.

You took your 3rd road trip and rocked it.  You have also been on 4 flights and have 4 more in the next month!  In your first 9 months, you have been in North Carolina (coast and mountains), Minnesota, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and the District of Columbia.  We love traveling and plan to drag you along for most of it.

You continue to be curious about everything and everyone and we love that about you.  You are also a little adrenaline junky.  You did you first back hip circle at the little gym and did so good at climbing on a little course they set up.  Maybe you will be a future gymnast like your mom and aunties?  Or maybe a downhill skier once we get you on the slopes next winter?

You play so much better with your toys now.  You can interact better and your coordination is great.  You still love the zany zoo (best purchase ever) and love your quiet bible book, stackable cups, v-tech sit and stand, and baby Einstein music toy.

The night before you turned 9 months you slept over 11 hours! That was mom's FIRST full night of sleep in over 9 months (I'm not sure when my actual last full night of sleep was if you factor in waking up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night while pregnant)!  THANK YOU!

We lowered your crib and it was just in time because you are sitting up and pulling yourself up in your crib now too.

You stand ALL DAY LONG.  And if you are not standing, you are crawling or scooting (or climbing on mom).  Once you are standing, you want to move to the next toy or furniture.  You don't seem to have any fear of falling yet.  Thankfully you will fall to your butt now without rolling all the way back to your head.  Sometimes you forget how to sit down and start to whine after awhile. You love holding our hands and walking - sometimes almost a run - around the house!

We are having so much fun with you!  Where did our baby go?!
