Asheville for Meredith's Birthday

My parents had always planned to fly out for Meredith's first birthday so since it was in March and not the best beach weather, we suggested they meet us in Asheville (one of our top favorite places) instead.  Then, Mer's godmother, Stacy heard about our plan and she and her family decided to join!  We had the best time!  I love these people and I love adventure.  We rented a house so we could make some meals at home and all hang out when the girls were napping/sleeping.  Tyler and I got in later than planned because we had to take Meredith back to the doctor again for a never ending cold but thankfully she was such a trooper on the trip and Evelyn didn't get sick.

The night we arrived we ordered pizza and got settled at the house.  Then we started the first day out at the Biltmore Estate.  We had a gorgeous day.

We grabbed lunch then headed back to the house for naps for the girls.

These two cousins love each other so much!

More birthday celebrations with cake (ran out of frosting though!), cupcakes and presents.  We finished the night with dinner and drinks at Wicked Weed Brewery.

Day 2 was full of hiking. First at Looking Glass Falls.

Then Moore Cove Falls.

The girls did so good in the ergo carriers and both took naps during the second hike.

Behind the waterfall.

After we stopped for lunch and a drink at The Hub.  It was a brewery in a bike shop that had awesome food trucks.  Such a good find.  Then we drove to Chimney Rock State Park and hiked to the top.

Followed by a hike to Hickory Nut Falls, which is one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi.

We ended the hiking with an ice cream stop.  We grilled at the house for dinner that night.

On Saturday, we headed downtown Asheville to get lunch and do some brewery hopping.

We timed it perfectly because right after lunch we saw the spoon lady perform!

We had BBQ for dinner at Buxton Hall. Yum!  And finished the night at The Funkatorium.

So many laughs and good memories made on this trip!  We were all so sad it had to end.  I have a feeling we will be doing a lot more traveling with this group in the future though ;)
